Union Carpenter
Jorgenson Construction is actively seeking union carpenters to be apart of our on-site construction team. This is a full-time position with opportunities for career advancement with a growing firm. As a Union Carpenter, you’ll help build and shape the structures that support our clients and communities. From framing and blocking to finish work and formwork, you’ll play a key role in bringing our projects to life — safely, accurately, and as a team.
Responsibilities

Prioritize safety and contribute to our Incident and Injury Free culture

Interpret building plans, drawings, and sketches to determine material needs and dimensions

Measure, cut, shape, and install wood, plywood, wallboard, plastic, and other materials

Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, ceilings, and doorframes

Set interior and exterior blocking and backing

Install door and window components and basic finish elements

Complete basic concrete formwork, including placing and finishing concrete as needed

Use forming systems (modular or handmade)

Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment

Perform quality checks to ensure work meets specifications and project standards

Collaborate and communicate with laborers, supervisors, and other trades

Adapt to various job site tasks and pitch in wherever needed
Knowledge & Skills

Proven carpentry experience and results (union apprenticeship or equivalent training preferred)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction documents

Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and measurement equipment (e.g., levels, squares, saws)

Physical strength and agility to lift up to 100 lbs, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and work at heights

Willingness to work outdoors in various Minnesota weather conditions

Ability to travel to project sites up to 70+ miles away

Understanding of building codes, job site safety standards, and quality expectations

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
